Ms. Whittenburg has been successfully involved in a variety of business and tax transactions resulting in significant tax savings for a number of major Fortune 500 clients in various industries including manufacturing, telecommunications, software, oil and gas, and real estate construction. In addition to her business transaction practice, Ms. Whittenburg also represents several commercial and residential real estate developers. She also assists her clients in the management and disposition of commercial properties. Ms. Whittenburg spent over six years in large public accounting firms where she assisted clients develop and structure complex asset acquisitions and divestitures, focused on transactional tax minimization, including turbine generators, motor vehicles and aircraft. She uses this knowledge to assist clients in the asset acquisition and planning stages of large capital asset purchases. She also represents clients undergoing state tax audits and has frequently worked closely with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. Ms. Whittenburg assisted a large telecommunications company reduce its state sales tax audit by more than $15 million dollars.
