Shareholder Brant Kotch was recently interviewed by Runner's World in regards to the position he holds as President of the Board and Chevron Houston Marathon Race Director. Mr. Kotch has served in this position since 2002 and prior to that served in various roles until being named director.
This year's Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon, which were held in mid-January, sold out faster than ever last July, verifying their status as among the country's most popular road races. The 10,000 Half-Marathon slots disappeared in 19 hours, and the 10,000 Marathon entries in two-and-a-half days. Houston is also the race where Ryan Hall ran his famous American record, 59:34, three years ago. That was the race that catapulted Hall onto the American and world scene.
Now the Houston races have surged ahead to an even more prominent position. On Monday, it was announced that Houston would be holding both the USA Men's and Women's Olympic Marathon Trials on January 14, 2012. That will be the first time both Trials have taken place in the same city on the same day. Yesterday, Amby Burfoot talked with Brant Kotch, president of the Houston Marathon Committee and race director of the Marathon and Half-Marathon.
Mr. Kotch specializes in representation of real estate, banking and financial services, energy and other business clients in business formation (corporation, LLC, LLP and partnership), mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, exchanges, joint ventures, strategic alliances, debt and equity financing and restructuring and other transactions.
