Employment and Labor Law

The Firm represents companies and individuals in connection with employment issues, including claims under the Americans With Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, ERISA, Title VII (age, race, sex and religion), and the Texas Workers' Compensation Act.

The Firm also handles complaints filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Texas Commission on Human Rights, as well as state and federal trials and appeals resulting from these complaints.

The Firm advises its clients in connection with personnel matters on a day-to-day basis, including such issues as negotiating settlement packages, preparing employee manuals, and recordkeeping. Additionally, the Firm's lawyers provide advice to our clients in connection with inquiries by the Department of Labor and other federal agencies.

  • Assisting clients to comply with the myriad of federal, state and local laws and regulations that bear on the employment relationship
  • Conducting training for managers and supervisors on unlawful harassment, diversity and equal employment opportunity issues

    Helping employers develop and revise personnel policies, procedures and manuals
  • Advising management on matters including wage-hour compliance, affirmative action, employee privacy, plant closing, employee testing, restrictive covenants and trade secrets and employee benefits
  • Assisting employers through audits and investigations with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance, Wage and Hour Division, and OSHA
  • Analyzing workforce data and helping our clients comply with the WARN Act and the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act as they design and implement downsizing programs
  • Assisting employers with I-9 audits
