Yigal advises clients on a wide variety of legal issues relating to business formation, governance, and operation, with a substantial emphasis on commercial real estate transactions. He assists clients in contract preparation, negotiation and review, risk assessment associated with business decisions and opportunities, corporate governance and compliance, real estate acquisition, leasing and disposition, and other tasks involved in running a business. Yigal works closely with clients to understand their business activities and objectives, allowing him to provide focused, client-centered, and cost-effective counsel on legal issues confronting them.
Outside the office, Yigal volunteers his time and skills to his community where he applies the same level of attention and care that he gives his clients to make a meaningful difference in his community. Having immigrated to the United States from Iran when he was young, Yigal is deeply grateful for the opportunities that his adopted community provided and is a firm believer in giving back to the community and helping others succeed. Yigal is the Vice President of the Hebrew Free Loan Association of Houston and a member of the International Affairs committee of the Anti-Defamation League.
Prior to joining Crain Caton & James, Yigal studied Finance and Economics at Yeshiva University and later obtained both a J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Houston. While at the University of Houston, Yigal was distinguished with a number of honors and awards, including the Houston Bar Association Real Estate Law Section Award and the Bauer Business School Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.
Yigal joined Crain Caton & James as a law clerk in 2011 while still in law school. After passing both the California and Texas bar exams in 2014, Yigal accepted a position at the firm as an associate attorney. Yigal’s clients benefits from the diversity of his background which includes a proficiency in several languages including Farsi and Hebrew.
