Associate
Alan Appling is an associate with the firm’s commercial litigation practice group. Alan focuses his practice on commercial litigation and business disputes. Alan has provided counsel to individuals, local businesses, partnerships and mid-sized corporations in state and federal court litigation, arbitration, and mediation. He has experience representing clients in contract disputes, commercial and residential real estate matters, construction matters (residential construction defects, contractor disputes, commercial project bidding and contract negotiation), insurance coverage issues, FINRA securities arbitration, employment litigation (including trade secret and non-compete litigation and defense of ADA claims), and probate and fiduciary matters.
Prior to practicing law, Alan attended Hampden-Sydney College where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Commerce. He was named a Patrick Henry Scholar and an Academic All-American as a member of the baseball team. Upon graduation, Alan obtained his law degree from South Texas College of Law where he was named to the Dean’s Honor list and awarded the CALI Excellence Award for Admiralty and Texas Oil, Gas and Land Title.
In his spare time, Alan enjoys spending time bird hunting and saltwater fishing.
