Calla Sprague focuses her practice in the areas of estate planning, trusts, probate, and personal and corporate taxation.
She provides guidance on tax issues and complications which can arise from the transfer of wealth and prepares federal tax estate and gift tax returns. Her practice concentrates on drafting wills, trust agreements and other estate planning documents, such as medical and financial power of attorneys. Calla has worked on estates of all sizes and recognizes the number of years it takes for the average person to accumulate assets and is sensitive to the desire to protect such assets. Calla has assisted clients in protecting assets by drafting pre and post nuptial agreements, revocable trusts, more complex trusts designed to minimize estate tax, insurance trusts, special needs trusts, and forming family entities. She has advised estates valued at more than $10 million and worked to best structure the estate to minimize estate taxes leaving more to heirs.
She provides representation and guidance through the process of a death and the resulting legal process. Calla assists executors with their responsibilities and duties to ensure they comply with their fiduciary duties.
Calla graduated from Washburn University School of Law, where she contributed to her student bar association. Calla received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wichita State University. In her free time, Calla enjoys baseball and is an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She also adores her nephews and her dog, Lady Bell.
